Trames d'un tracé

Tout commence par un tracé, une ligne, une empreinte qui s’(a/e)ncre dans la pierre de façon mécanique et libératrice. La répétition s’étend dans un mouvement continu. Des espaces infinis, aux contours indéfinis se construisent. Je considère ma pierre lithographique comme une matière sensible. Ce matériau me fascine par sa capacité à garder en mémoire la moindre empreinte. J’explore, par le geste même, cette qualité plastique grâce aux superpositions de gravures,

de ponçages et de tracés, à l’image d’un palimpseste.

Ce sont des successions de strates qui tantôt se chevauchent, s’entremêlent et se fondent les unes aux autres. En creusant superficiellement la pierre, les traits sont marqués par une trame, des textures émergent. 

Un paysage composé de strates se dévoile.

It all begins with a trace, a line, an imprint that is carved into the stone in a mechanical and liberating way. The repetition expands in a continuous movement. Infinite spaces with undefined contours are constructed. I see my lithographic stone as a sensitive material. This material fascinates me because of its ability to retain the slightest imprint. Through the gesture itself, I explore this plastic quality by superimposing engravings, sanding and tracings, like a palimpsest. They are a succession of layers that sometimes overlap, intermingle and merge into one another. By digging superficially into the stone, the strokes are marked by a grid, and textures emerge. A landscape of strata is revealed.
